CEMENT BONDER
GC CEMENT BONDER is the best polymer additive, added to dry cement before adding water. Once mixed, it can be used in various applications such as floor tile installation, natural stone bonding, and as a slurry for plastering. It enhances the bonding strength of cement with tiles and stones, removing the need for water curing.
TYPE: Type 1 (Similar to adhesive after mixed with sand, cement & water)
Suitable Substrates
Concrete
Durable and strong, providing a solid foundation for a wide range of applications.
Cement Plaster
Ensures a smooth, even surface ideal for coatings and tile installations.
Concrete Masonry
Reliable and robust, offering structural integrity with versatile finishing options.
Cement Mortar Beds
Provides a stable, level base ensuring proper support and adhesion for coverings.
Application & Usage Guidelines
1
Area of Applications
- All types of ceramic tile, terracotta, bricks, vitrified tiles, natural stones
- Internal & external areas
- Dry & wet areas
- Commercial applications on floor and wall
- Cement-based plasters (as a cement mixture)
- Wherever tiles are fixed with cement and sand
- As a slurry on the outer surface during plastering
2
Precautions
- Always mix GC Cement Bonder & cement dry first, then add this mixture to water.
- Do not apply directly to gypsum plaster, cement boards, or deformable surfaces.
- Excess dosage of GC Cement Bonder may increase setting time & prolong curing.
- Protect from direct rainfall or foot traffic for at least 24 hours (can extend up to 72 hours).
- Keep out of reach of children. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and eye protection.
- If in contact with skin, wash immediately with clean water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately and seek medical advice.
3
Application Instructions
- All surfaces should be between 40° F(4°C) and 104° F(40°C) and structurally sound, clean and free of all dirt, oil, grease, loose peeling paint, laitance, concrete sealers or curing compounds.
- The substrate must be level, cured, undamaged, compact, rigid, resistant, dry and free from any debonding agents and from damp rising.
- New concrete slabs shall be damp cured and 28 days old before application which will reduce the shrinkage from tile fixing surface.
- *No minimum cure time for concrete slabs when thin-set mortar is mixed with latex additive.
- Expansion joints shall be provided through the tile work from all construction or expansion joints in the substrate. Do not cover expansion joints with thin-set mortar.
4
How to Mixing
- Always mixed with dry cement /dry cement & sand.
- For machine concept, mix 300 gms of GCB in 50 kg cement (1 bag) and mix this fortified with sand in the ratio 1:6, or any other ratio as per required.
- If the tiles are to be fixed on the walls, the mixture of cement bonder and cement should be made like a paste by adding minimum water.
- Before Apply - Place clean, potable water into a clean mixing bowl.
- Adjust the water as per desired consistency.
- No further water should be added.
- Leave mixture for 5 minutes before use.
- Allow the mixed Cement to polymerize for 2-5 minutes and mix again for 30 seconds.
